Wait how poor is poor? like ball park figures for a single person or a family of 4?

Like there is a huge difference between saying 8k a year is poor and 240k a year is poor.

I'll stick with the definition for my state, which is anyone making less than $20,000 a year. Actual poverty is defined as less than $14,000 a year.

Wait.. I thought you were poor.

Poor people don't make enough money for international travel, so you're either not poor, or you're not telling the truth.

Oh.. and before Obamacare, 16 million Americans didn't have health care.

Is that per person/per household?

Speak for yourself.

I make a easy target here because I seem to be in the minority of political leanings here. And thats fine. I can take it.

btw

I spent all night picking the marshmellows from 2 boxes of luckycharms. I thought I would give them to you in hopes you could get some sweetness back.

All I can say is that the republicans have done a really good job with the insulated misinformation machine the last few years or so. It'll be very difficult for the republicans to sustain any kind of political presence when it's obvious they have whipped the base up into such a delusional frenzy.

But keep on keepin' on. It won't hurt us in the long run.

Well yes I know the *actual* poverty level I was trying to figure out what people were arguing about.

They keep changing the definitions and I can't figure out what I'm supposed to agree with

How is pointing out that you say one thing and then contradict yourself the next day a personal attack? Please explain.

Yesterday you were poor, today you're an educated middle class worker.

I'm just pointing out the discrepancy.

Perhaps as a conservative, you just don't like fact checkers?

I'm using the standard definition of poor as it's declared by my state. So, if I say poor, then you know I mean less than 20k/year for a household.

I will thank you.

When you guys remove all the republican policies that obama has been living off of that last 4 years and his get put into place. I think we will see who gets in a frenzy( Ill be in a frenzy with you btw). You should read what the CBO has to say more often instead of just the tv talking heads and the move- on.orgs et al.

You mean stuff like this?

" In its new report, CBO says that if current policies continue, including allowing the Bush-era tax rates to increase in January and going forward with large cuts in payments to doctors under Medicare, the debt path would be less explosive. In that scenario, debt held by the public moves from 73 percent of GDP this year to 61 percent by 2022 and 53 percent by 2037.??

This prediction is slightly rosier than last year, when CBO predicted federal debt held by the public would grow from about 70 percent in 2011 to 84 percent by 2035 under the current-law scenario. The problem is that Congress is unlikely to allow scheduled spending cuts and tax increases, including an expansion of the Alternative Minimum Tax, to take effect. "

But you don't want us to increase taxes on the rich, or cut payments to doctors.

Perhaps if you actually read stuff from the CBO instead of only listening to FOX..
