Ok, I am a freak for Porto. I wonder whether others out there share the passion. Please let me know. What is your favourite vintage, tawny, house, year....
I tried recently a Burgmeister Tawny 40 years. Mindblowing.

I don't usually like sweet wine... I once tried a porto (what's it called if it's not
Portuguese) La Crima D'oro (maybe 2002). Chilled. Was good, but too sweet.

What it was depends on the country. If it is Spanish they have Oporto. Technically it is wine mixed with brandy. The first times it was done to protect the vine from getting vinagre during the passages to America. It had not a big commerical success until 150 - 200 years later when it went one of the biggest export products of Portugal mainly to England.
