In light of physical pain being easier to deal with than emotional pain I am wanting a new tattoo after Christmas break. I am thinking of getting a quote or saying tattooed on my ribs or thighs... possibly somewhere else just depends on what it is. Anyone with this type of tattoo feel free to post a pic.

I am not sure why I would rather feel physical pain instead of emothional pain. I guess it is because I know at some point the physical pain will stop but as for emotional pain or mental pain there never seems to be relief anymore.

I think physical pain is better because you forget after sometime but emotional pain is endless. so getting a tattoo to forget is better idea.

I dont honestly think getting a tattoo to transfer emotional pain is a great idea because you will always have a reminder of what made you so sad. There are other ways of coping.

By all means get a tat if you want one but let it be for happy reasons.

Sometimes it's good to have a reminder of an emotionally hard time of your life, when it's over you will be able to say "I got over this and anything else is easy in comparison"

I agree but build a bird table or paint a wall, dont have something irrevocably written on your skin which people will ask about and you will see every single day for the rest of your life.

True I personally would go for something more symbolic than words as well but to each their own I guess.

I agree with treebee on this. Especially if you never get over the emotional pain.

Though, if you do get one, make sure IT'S SPELLED CORRECTLY!
