o.o I have pet dust mites.. They live on my bed and on my skin.

I also have a girlfriend, she has the same value as an insect.

My daughter wants some but I had to put my foot down and say no, I don't want giant bugs in my house.

I did have stick insects as a kid, one night I didn't put the lid back on the tank properly and woke up in the morning to a room covered in stick insects

True, and mostly true.
You can buy 50 or so eggs at a gardening center, they come grouped together in ootheca (egg sacks)
or you could plant some mammoth sunflowers, they appear to like those...

We had giant african snails as kids, I can't remember much about them, my Mum said they smelt really bad though
