PREAMBLE REVIEWED --- AGAIN
When our elected officials no longer appear to represent
us; but, appear to be protecting their own a** and that of
their accused and found guilty brethren (when they are
exposed by the public)! When our police forces become a law
unto themselves with the apparent tentative approval of their
appointed or elected superiors! When our governing bodies
spend public funds to construct prisons; but, have none to
construct schools, community centers, and homes for the youth
whose future, without these, IS surely the prison! When the
States become the welfare recipients of FED. funds! ETC!!!
-- It is time to review OUR Preamble to the Constitution. --
"We the people of the United States, in order to form a
more perfect union, establish Justice, insure domestic
Tranquility' provide for the common defense, promote the
general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to
ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this
Constitution for the United States of America.
Note that the phrase "We the people" refers to certain
numbers residing within the Colonies. It excludes citizens of
foreign lands - their citizens then residing temporarily
within the Colonies, and new immigrants. Also those then
residing in the Colonies who did not believe in the
principles outlined in the Preamble.
One other group was excluded! They were those who were
even then planning to undermine the new Nation. --- Yes! "We
the people" were those who had a vested interest in the live
berthing of a new - unique - type government.
Again please note that certain key words were
capitalized. And one word, which most people associate
strongly with the Constitution, is not even mentioned. It is
the word LAW! It is my opinion that our forefathers very
likely, and with much deliberation, decided to ignore any
emphasis on LAW. They were witness to a basic FACT in
history. It is that when LAW becomes the prime mover and
concern of the governing and enforcing forces, the innocent
and unwary "people" become the prime sufferers.
The key to the success of the new Nation rested with "We
the people". It was for and by them that it was formed - that
Order and Justice had to dominate: that only with peace
within the new country could domestic Tranquility be assured
and the general Welfare be promoted. And only with the
Blessings of Liberty secure for ourselves can we assure it
for our posterity.
