I guess this is a UK based question as such...

Well I dunno really, maybe anyone living elsewhere can fill me in on your countries system?!

So yea anyway, I was just wondering who here was registered as a donor? Do you carry a card?

What are your views on it? Do you think it's unfair on your family, to put them through that... they've just lost someone really close... the thought of having pieces of them taken away can't be a good thought... but maybe the thought that their loved one wants to help improve someone elses life over rides that?!

I think if anyone close to me wanted to give themselves to save others I'd be proud and respect their wishes... but I'd hate the thought of putting my family through that if they felt different...

I am sooo tempted to do it, I mean, if I'm gone I may aswell save someone else if it's possible... you know?! Why have two lives destroyed when one could be made better?

Sorry this is a really morbid topic I just wanted some advice I guess

If you want to then go for it, you just have to be 110% certain on it.

I doubt many of my organs are any good now.

Seriously, Once i am dead, my body is no use to me. If it means someone can see because they have my eyes then cool. So be it.

I think my other organs are pretty much f***ed though, but they can have em to scare people with

I give blood every time I can (think its once every 6 months). Makes me feel ill when I think about my organs being removed, however it will benifit someone so I should sign up really

In the US (well, California at least) you put a little sticker on your drivers license to say you want to be a donor.

I've done, and I encourage everyone to do so. Even if my family didn't respect the decision (which they do) then I'd do it anyway. Stuff 'em, a strangers life is more important that my loved ones feelings. And that's not to say that I don't care about them, just that their delicate sensibilities should not mean that some poor bastard dies when they could otherwise have lived.

Do it. Do it now.

The person in the accident might be you, and would you like to die because a kidney wasn't available because it might upset someone's mum? No, me either. Do it. Do it.
