President Obama's hometown newspaper has some startling advice for the commander-in-chief -- quit while you're behind.

Citing the president's record-low approval ratings and unease in the Democratic base, a Chicago Tribune editorial writer recommended over the weekend that Obama need not feel obligated to run for a second term.

What'd I tell ya. Not one of 'em's gonna run against the first black president, but that won't stop 'em from framing a resignation in the proper light. But he won't do it (baring a threat of impeachment if it gets that bad in time), which is great. But the end of another year of his s***, the Democrats, the MSM and favorable sentiment for American socialism/class warfare will all be in shambles--and a lot of voters will have their eyes opened to the the shining city on a hill of fiscal conservatism.

It's looking like the ones who said elect Obama so the country can see where socialism will take us were right. I just hope we can stop our headlong slide toward the precipice in time.

It is sweet coming from Chicago though. HO!, I don't suppose Mayor Rahm Emanuel had anything to do with it? He's the one who said, "Never let a good crisis go to waste" after all.

Some editorial opinion writer in Chicago tells Obama to step down, and suddenly it's his "hometown newspaper" saying it?

If all it took were a handful of editorial writers to dictate presidential policy, Bush would have closed down Guantanamo Bay and pulled out of Iraq and Afghanistan before he left office.

Well, most likely Obama isn't going to quit. It's going to take us voters to kick his sorry a** out of office.

You'll have to pick a good opponent for that to happen, I think.

Who is your favorite?

See also the article from a Canadian, Rex Murphy, from the National Post for late, but correct, take on the Obominator.

Odd, I just copied that article and made a pdf-file of it, but now, the National Post is giving me a 404-error, not able to find it.

Titled "Rex Murphy - The media's love affair with a disastrous president"

P.S. I suppose it would be of little use to define "hometown" for the intellectually superiors amongst us....

Amen. It's as hard hitting on the myrmidons in our MSM as they should have been on him.

"Palin, in particular, stands out as Obama's opposite in the media's eyes. As much as they genuflected to the one, they felt the need to turn rottweiler toward the other."

"To the degree the press neglected its function as watchdog and turned cupbearer to a Styrofoam demigod, it is a partner in the flaws and failures of what is turning out to be one of the most miserable performances in the modern history of the American presidency."

Ooouuuuwww.
