Get Webroot. Works great. If you come across a site known to contain malicious software, it will give you an option to turn back or go on, but if you go on, youre still protected to some extent.

No.

So with webroot if a site has malware and you proceed after the warning you can remove the malware from a site?,or do you mean remove it from your PC?.

If you mean the latter then most antivirus would protect you a certain amount.I didn't know of any antivirus that could remove it from a computer.

I downloaded MSE and so far I'm infection free. You can also specify a cpu usage limit for scanning, but setting a low resource limit makes a full scan run sloooooow because it examines EVERYTHING, but it's nice if you want to use other programs while it scans in the background without interruption.

You got that right about Norton and if you don't uninstall it, it plays havoc on everything, even if it's not being used.
Damn thing ruined my New Year's Eve.
