Do you think it is more difficult being from the North of England than the south?

No. North is better in my opinion.

I think it's just a slightly different lifestyle to be honest. The most North I've been is Birmingham and that was only for a couple of hours, so I couldn't possibly judge what it's like to live up North.

South is better. We have better weather than up north and people understand the southern accent more than a northern accent

Apparently us Southerners are meant to be happier as well, according to some study or other. Not sure if that's true though.

I'm generalising completely here, and am slightly biased, but I've always found people from the North of England to be so friendly.

I've got mates from Hull, Manchester, Liverpool, Sunderland and Newcastle and they are the most friendly people. The friends I have from the south are nice, but much more reserved.

That is a complete generalisation and not exclusively true, but it is a slight observation. I've often wondered why.

No offense to Southerners, I love you lot too!

Interestingly the happiest city in the UK is the second furthest north.

Kudos to whoever guesses which one it is.

If they're anywhere near London, that would account for the reservedness (?) - is that even a word?

Really?
I was told it was meant to be those living in the South West (though to be fair I did hear it on local radio so it would be a bit biased).

By North I meant Scotland!
We say England is Southern Scotland, here!
