You could download open office, which is just the free open source version of office. Does basically all the things normal office does.

Go to openoffice.org

You can download Open Office. It operates just like Microsoft Office suite, but it is free.

FreeWare is awesome.

Most versions of Microsoft Windows do include Word Pad (not the same as Word).

Look in Start>Programs (or All Programs).Accessories.
or click Start>Run and type "wordpad.exe".

You can also download the Word Viewer, which should be able to print off documents
