Nice guys finish last? ? ? ? ?

I consider myself to be a very positive person. I look for the good in everyone. Now I am curious to know and I would like everyone's view: I hear many women and men complain that they have a hard time finding someone-anyone-the right one-a piece of ass-whatever. My question is this: How close minded are we? Does it matter what that person looks like? If you get along great, amazing conversations, same views, able to joke, but she or he is a bit overweight or really not attractive; do you not take it further? Do you give up on finding someone because the people you happen to find aren't what general standards would say attractive? Do you get upset about not having anyone because the people that come into your path are not quite your type? Over all how shallow are we?

Ok so if you met someone and they were -for lack of a better word, ugly... but you got along great and they wanted to date... you would go for it?

If she is nice, and we hit it off personality wise, I can live with a few flaws. A little overweight, yes. A less than perfect face, yes.

But there is a limit. There has to be at least SOME physical attraction there for me. If she is 200 pounds overweight, and her hair looks as if it hasn't been combed in 3 weeks, no thanks.

Hope I don't come accross as snobbish...... that is just the way I feel.

personality is first, but yes there has to be SOME physical attraction, it is just human nature. but if you can find someone that is not the Brad Pitt, but isnt bad looking either, and you take the time to get to know them, their personality could and usually does make them more attractive cause you want to talk to them more and miss talking to them when they are not around. I have known some girls that are knock outs but their personality made them ugly to me, but on the flip side a not so attractive person, has a beautiful personality and is gorgous on the inside

My boyfriend and I have been on and off for about a year now. I got pregnant and lost the baby after 4 months. But I gained some weight while I was pregnant, and didn't hit the gym right away (was going through depression and what not)
So he left me because I wasn't the girl he fell in love with.

a couple weeks later he asked me for another chance because even though i'm a chubby girl now, I'm still me and he loves me for me.

For me, that was motivation to lose this extra weight i've put on.

looks arnt hugely impotant to me i tend to go with attitude i find the right type of attitude far more attractive

so basically what you are saying is that your thinking of going for someone who has a few
things you may have to overlook in order to date them!?

LOL no actually not the case. In all truth, I have to be attracted to someone to date them.

LOl, I never denied it. I just wanted to know how other people were. But that is only because sex is important in a relationship of mine and I HAVE to be attracted to them to want to be with them.
