New and the Media...

just dawned on me, im being sucked into a world of media... but i dont understand some thing.. if you take every news report in the last few days.. How many of us where effected by the cartoons?? who caught bird flu?? has education reforms effected you?? did you know or care crime is down on drink related charges??

All the news out there and all ive come across is Bad b****ing evil end f the world!!!!! in Bristol is an apprent protest in town which lasted 10mins.. a girl murdered but the killer was found blown up in his car...

shall i give you all the good news!!!!! see below!!

There are tons of murders in London and we never hear about them

Are you kidding? There is always a murder being reported over here.

News is very selective.

I have friends who are news reporters and they will tell you in private that there are certain stories you just don't run with or your sources of information will all close down.

You getthe odd maverick who puts their neck out to spring a story but if the system decides that's not news it dies and so does that reporters career.

Here in Ireland I have seen some terrible things happen and they don't get a line in the local paper never mind the national or international media.

A very simple example is the street riots. In the 1970's news reports of violence in Belfast were broadcast and that evening the rioting spread to Derry, 70 miles away.
Now if there is a riot in Belfast there is a news blackout and the riot gets dealt with in Belfast and stops there.

I don't think this is a coincidence.
