Need for a boyfriend/girlfriend

I was just having a discussion with my friend after he asked me, "Why do girls always feel the need to have a boyfriend?"

I'll post my opinion later, but I'm interested in what others have to say.

I am aware that not all girls feel a need for a boyfriend. Some just want "friends with benefits," while others don't want a boyfriend at all, while others aren't aware they want a boyfriend, and there are a million of possibilities.

Just think about it for a sec. Without generalizing, why do some girls feel the need for a boyfriend?

I know my friend always needs a guy. She said it was a feeling of being loved and for security, others, like guys, think it's just to be popular..anyone goes.

Me personally. I don't need a guy, It's a lot easier minus one in fact. But I do like the idea of being cared for and seen in that way. I guess everyone longs for that though?

For the attention ..love..and affection. Someone too grow with and learn from..and maybe eventually have a family with!

Because for the most part(I know it's not always the case)women are more emotionally geared. Therefore they need extra emotional support.
