Who’s in? What’s that all about anyway? How come all the new 2020 presidential candidates support it but now the document is gone?

Who needs airplanes anyway am I right?

Could be called “Green New Deal.”

Any takers? Anyone else behind this?

All call for support of stopping all air travel?

Then how will I travel the world? I hate boats. The MEU ruined that for me so I refuse to go on a cruise.

Maybe we could breed giant birds to fly us around... sort of like the Flintstones.

If you or anyone else is still looking for it, from what I can gather this should be the bill in question, I think.

Nowhere in the Green New Deal does it mention that air travel will end, nor has anyone who supports the Green New Deal is saying that it will or should. And, no, the Green New Deal also does not mean you would not still be able to keep the gas guzzling car you have nor drive it. And, no, the Green New Deal will not turn us into a totalitarian socialist state or take away our freedoms.

These falsehoods are being introduced and perpetuated by the right to scare us into being against it, on Facebook, and other avenues. Congratulations, OP. You’ve bought into the propaganda. How does it feel? And since your President’s brain doesn’t seem to differ from his ass, and doesn’t read anyways, it comes to no surprise that he doesn’t know what he is talking about either.

You see, people who actually read stuff, namely peer reviewed material (I at least hope you know what that means and the importance of it) will realize the truth in the science and the emergency of the situation (as opposed to, say, the “national emergency” of immigration).

But even the Green New Deal simply recognizes the urgency of future climate catastrophe that will turn irreversible in approximately 12 years and therefore prudently allocates resources and manpower to create alternatives to fossil fuel dependent industries, power grids, and vehicles and providing the replacement of these with such WHERE TECHNICALLY POSSIBLE.

No, our cars will not be taken away from us. No, our airplanes will not be taken away from us. No, free enterprise will not be taken away from us. No, ballots will not be taken away from us. Capitialism will still thrive and we will still have a democracy, much like we did under FDR’s New Deal.

You see, people who read would also know the difference between Democratic Socialism, as practiced in Scandinavia and parts of Europe, and the socialist state, as practiced in North Korea, Cuba, China, Vietnam, and the Soviet Union.

Democratic Socialism still has a free-enterprise capitalist system of economy like ours. They just have a greater safety net system with programs such as universal health care, free education, and so on. On the flip side, a socialist state (as envisioned by Karl Marx) is a government whereas all means of production are controlled by the state, thus eliminating free-enterprise, and whereas mention the absence of democracy largely exists (other than given face value). Bernie Sanders and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez are Democratic Socialists, NOT Marxist socialists. But the scare-mongers will have you believe otherwise of course.

And, please, spare me the bulls*** about “can we afford this”? Your President, Mitch, Paul Ryan, and everyone who now kisses Donny’s a** have long lost any credibility in regards to concern for our debt. The GOP has proven it just wants to cry a river about our deficit when they cannot cut their own taxes or spend more on military, and recent history shows they will do it anyways even if means ballooning our debt. But take away those two things and the Democrats can, and have, historically easily shown monetary responsibility while also taking care of our real domestic problems.

Donny on the looming debt crisis (which reached a record 22 trillion and has increased by a record 1.2 trillion annually since taking office):

”Yeah, but I won’t be here.”

To me, that’s all I need to know about the man.

And I’ll venture to say, you’ll probably respond to all of this in your usual fashion by posting some meaningless ditty from YouTube for all of us to sing along to.

Your choice of course, bro. You can either continue playing the flute while the world burns or actually care about our well-being.

Yes, I was reading it too and didn't see anything about airplanes.

I'm particularly fond of the "infrastructure" part.

We may not be able or willing to stave off the changes, but we can prepare for them.

Though an underwater bullet-train-tunnel to Hawaii would be a wonderful infrastructure project.

I think Elon is laying the groundwork for that one.

Sounds like you’re in.

There’s no such thing as free education.

I think the the trade off for it getting a college education should be something like serving two years or four years in the military. Or some type of civil service.

Bill Gates wasn’t very impressed when he was asked about his thoughts on the new green deal.

Everyone who is a U.S. citizen should have to do this... not just those who want college.

For the Green New Deal, yes, it’s a worldwide urgency. For free education, probably not at this time. There is only so much we can afford right now. Technology, community college, and trade school could be current ways to deal with the skyrocketing cost of traditional university education though.
