My screen keeps going off

And then coming on again. Then it goes again. The monitor is connected properly. Any ideas why it's doing this?

i agree. doublecheck your connection. Mine did this and after Maxi told me to check connections..I found one of the screws was loose that goes into the back of the CPU.

I wiggled it and made sure it was connected and it's in as far as it will go.

Screw loose. Know what it feels like. I'll just get under my desk. Ta, plebs and maxi.

If you are sure nothing is loose it's going bad on ya.

Ivve had the issue for both reasons - one time it was a loose connection (and sometimes the connection might be tight but the wire itself is loose, hope that makes sense what I am trying to say...) and another time the monitor was just going out on me.

I am assuming you checked the connection to the PC and the monitor itself? The one in the back of the monitor on most models is positioned in such a way that it can slide out a tad easier and sometimes tightening the screws will fix it.

We just haven't figured out whether that's a rouse, or the real thing.

If it is a CRT, the refresh rate is probably set to high...That and get your hands on a known good cable, and try it...quick, cheap fix.
