It's a whole lot of stuff outside of the typical Drug du'jour that big pharma pushes.

Crystals, I would say is on the fringe - except for maybe bringing one's mind into focus - kind of a meditation.

but also:

Acupuncture
Meditation
Massage therapy (reflexology is a type)
Music therapy
Nutrition
Herbs and diet supplements (Cannabis, kava, ginseng ...)
Voodoo
Witchcraft

... OK, maybe not the last two.

I believe they can be helpful.

What career are you changing from - if you don't mind me asking.

TY

They all seem to be beneficial. I am not sure what acupuncture does though.

But since most are outside of the rigors of current "modern medicine", they were frowned upon by "the establishment" .. mostly with arguments of "scientific basis" .. but certainly some because they aren't making the sales.

Acupuncture claims to relieve a lot of pain and problems with pins suck in the right spots ...

My wife went to a "Maso-therapist" a long time ago - another "out of network" treatment. It's kind of like a massage but for body systems (circulation, lymph ...?) in addition to muscles.
It certainly had an effect.

I would think success is an adjudicator of efficacy.
