My dad's forgotten his password

Which allows people to connect to the wireless network in his flat, I have my laptop here with me and I want to connect on my own laptop, rather than use his all weekend.

I'm on my dad's laptop at the moment, is there any way that I can use his laptop to help us find the password?

ah right, cause if it was BT they have the password on the back of the router.

im not really sure what to suggest, that doesn't include reseting the modem, and then setting up a new password.

The steps on their website said to reset it, and from there I would be able to change the password, so I reset it and nothing happened

Plug it in using the ethernet cable, then go to the router settings (192.168.1.1) the password should be something like admin (check https://www.portforward.com they have a list of routers and how to get into them) and then go to wireless settings and change the password to something easy to remember.
I'm open to be told I'm retarded.

My old one didn't need it but i think my new one does so y'know it probably varies.
also most routers have the wireless password written on the underside do they not?

Just reset the whole router. The setting-it-up part is easy.
