One thing about my theatre, is that the seats are more or less level with each other, with a slight angle to it, and it seems that all the tall people tend not to sit right at the back, frustratingly annoying

Oh guaranteed I will always get a tall person sat in front of me and I'm only like 5'4.

Wow, I haven't seen a theater like that in 10 years.

Everything in the States seems to be stadium-style seating these days. All of the traditional-seating theaters in New Orleans and Albany (and everywhere else I've been) closed down back in the late 90s, early 00s.

I have decided that the next time I see anything that is rude I am complaining to management and telling them that it is there responsibility to keep this from happening. I wonder if this is happening cause employees have slacked on keeping people in line. If people are going to be doing things like this they need to get thrown the f*** out.

Demand your money back if order is not kept in theatres.

Remember that if they don't feel the pain, to them there is no pain. That holds true in all parts of life. People won't act if you just moan about a problem, only if you make the problem their problem.

I went to a new Theatre in Canada that had a cell phone dampener. It's a good idea. Had a warning at the entrance saying cell phones won't operate inside the building and that if someone needed their phone for emergencies to go somewhere else.

Only once have I left a cell phone on in the theater and that's when I was killing some time waiting for some legal documents to be drafted. I put in on vibrate and left the theater as quietly and non-disruptively as I could in order to take the call outside.

Even then I felt rude and bad.

It's ultimately a complete lack of regard and consideration for other people that seems to be permeating our society as a whole.

I don't like to go anymore, I prefer movies at home. I live theater they throw you out. Where I live, they throw out rowdy kids, but it's still a hastle.I'll go to a matinee with older people for a movie that's only good on a big screen.

I do watch more movies at home than at the theater though. We have an excellent home theater setup.

I can't wait to get a house and make a dedicated movie room with a projector though. Even a big plasma TV isn't quite the same.
