Most Americans support ethnic profiling in airline security

I'd like to get peoples thoughts/ opinon on this topic ,

My opinion? Ok it 'may' be harsh but those who want ethnic profiling are idiots.

I think at one time or another we felt watched,Like maybe when you were in a store with friends shopping,having fun
If you are doing nothing wrong, you dont let it bother you.

If they have to watch some for the security of the country it protects us all, Dont do anything wrong, thats all??

I don't know about in America but I did read somewhere that in the UK they can only do random extra searches on a limited amount of ethnic minorities but they can do them to as many white people as they want, that confused me a bit. Not sure if it's true either but to me race shouldn't come into it at all.

Why don't we just provide everyone with the same level of security? FFS suicide bombers aren't all going to be men in sand coloured loose fitting clothes with turbans and a huge beard.

Of course, the suicide bombers are all little white haired ladies aren't they Anyone who thinks we shouldn't be using profiling to a certain extent is an idiot

However......start doing this too much, and the bad guys will try recruiting people who don't fit the usual stereotype, so like it or lump it - everyone needs to be checked out.

Problem is more and more terrorists are homegrown.

I think getting them educated at a younger age and also having stricter immigration rules.

Such as you can bring your family and your belief system with you but leave the hate-mongering where it is.

Do not bring it to the very country you are supposed to despise but that you want the benefits of living in.

How come nobody called for ethnic profiling after the Oklahoma City bombing?

One came from Michigan? The Nichols farm was not that far from us,and they blocked the road for a mile when they were looking there

I personally have not flown since late October 2001 then I flew from Florida to New Mexico. Security was tight since it had been less then 60 days since 9/11 .
Everyone was checked more then once and several were checked at random ,supposably randomly picked by the computer. All together my one suitcase was searched twice and I was requested to pass though the detector 2 times plus they used a hand held detector once before they decided I had nothing what so ever on my person, in my leathers or in my one suitcase that was any danger to anyone.
There wasn't any ethnic profiling being done every color of skin was pulled at random .

Is it still like this today at the airports?

Not using profiling would be the hight of PC stupidity..... so I suppose it will be very limited.

Profiling one group and excluding others will mean terrorists recruit people from the groups excluded (or kidnap the families and force them to help). It WON'T STOP TERRORISM, they might be evil but they're not stupid.
