Sign-Up I told you so.

There. I’ve said it.

In a preview of what’s likely to become a common occurrence in the Obama energy strategy, a California manufacturer of solar systems that was financed by a half-a-billion loan through the Obama administration announced that it would seek bankruptcy protection.

Do you see this as evidence that the US government is not giving these companies the resources to adequately compete against their Chinese rivals?

An overabundance of regulations, perhaps.

Maybe none of those are. Maybe it's China's fault. Ask Obama. I'm sure he has someone else to blame.

Did you read the article? I see a lot of mismanagement by both government and some solar businesses.

Well, the loan was initiated by George W. Bush.

But, the Chinese solar manufacturers are getting free land and other subsidies from the Chinese government, against WTO rules. Hard to compete against that.

Yes, whoever opened the door to the Chinese screwed us all and whoever is holding it open is too, IMO.

What about the American businesses who have higher profits because they can outsource to China? They benefit. What about the American consumer who gets quality products for a lower price? What about the millions of Chinese who are being lifted out of poverty? There's costs, but also benefits.

Just how many sacrifices do you think the American worker can afford to make to lift everyone else out of poverty?
