I dont think its a plane....if it was caught from a low flying chopper, and theyre saying they saw it from a horizontal angle, giving it the illusion of going straight up, then no contrail should be present. Contrails only form at high altitude, not 1-8,000 feet, which i suspect the chopper was flying at somewhere between those altitudes.
If the D.o.D has "no info" on it, thens its most likely a government operation....
The horizon, from a helicopter or whatever, is at a horizontal angle. And planes first come into our vision at the horizon at whatever altitude, even satellites, the moon or sun.
