Man, that makes me feel incredibly sad for that person. It must be hard to maintain self-respect when you're, like, 52 and living at 'home' again. On the plus side, her parents may croak any day and she could get the house to herself! (OK, that was a little mean... but true.)

its becoming more and more common as people are losing their homes and jobs and every
other damned thing!

It sucks, but thank goodness she has parents who can afford to help her out. Better that she's with them and putting away for a home than wasting time and money renting.

My mom and I are in that situation currently. My dad went and spent all our money on his things until we had none left to pay for our house so we declared bankruptcy. Now my mom and I are living with my mom's mom and my dad is living on his own in a town 15 min. away.

Things are pretty tough all across the board right now. I hope things look up for your family soon.
