Memorial Day weekend.

Any one have plans for the weekend?

Half the family headed up to South Dakota / Nebraska border to help prepare for ceremony next month.
Hard work - 30-45 min from anywhere. Hoping the weather is good.

Some have to work so will be home to recognize Memorial day.

Work Monday

Friday: Bar Hopping
Saturday: Shopping and then Movies(hopefully)
Sunday: Duty
Monday: Sleep

My kids and their kids will be here for a yard burn Monday at lunch time .then over to the cemetery to decorate the graves.



When I use to drink like a fish ,three day weekends always ended way to soon . When I got sober I was amazed to learn that there are a bunch of hours in a 3 day weekend . Those first few Tuesday mornings I went back to work and didn't feel and look like something refried and warmed over was scary .

finish cutting today
finish setting up patio
till, plant garden (just got back from buying tomatoes, peppers, cukes)
eat, drink, be mary (don't worry, I'll use the correct restroom)

Maybe watch part of the Indy 500 or Coke 600

When I was starting kindergarten we lived close enough that you could hear the Indy!!!!!

You know what they say about a bunch of folks who watch a bunch of cars making a bunch of left turns don't you ?

Nothing much, probably sleeping in until I have to do the rest of my finals.

We don't have memorial weekend here, that i know of anyway
We did have a bank holiday, which is the british holiday of laziness/drunkenness.
I went to a family day with the grandkids yesterday.

Banks and all are closed Monday, so it has the long weekend feel to it. Many treat it it that way.

The reason was to recognize persons lost in military action and former military. Some that don't come from a military family can use it to just generally recognized the passing of all friends and family.

Like any holiday, it's gotten commercialized, and such, that it's just time off. Which time off can still be good, sometimes they are the best family times.
