Meeting people off the internet and doing it right...

I have met a couple (three actualy) of people off of the internet and was shocked to discover that everyone of them place way too much trust in me having never met me before.
The 'rules' are as follows...

Meet in a neutral place, somewhere familier but not your home town.
Take friends with you.
Tell someone (who isnt going with you) what you are doing, where you are going and who you are meeting.
Make a plan about what you are gonna do before you leave and stick too it, tell everyone.

These rules are the basic of the basic, how many of you who have met someone of the net actualy followed these?

yeah i met a couple people who both lived in my home town one i worked out knew some of my friends, and the other twwo didnt brought a mate along told my folks where i was going and met them in a pub.

you have to be safe. you just dont knwo anyone can get a pic of the net!!

I have met two people offline.
I always feel like they think you are a baby if you bring a friend. So the second time I did not bring one.

It always goes wrong though. The first guy had an unhealthy obsession with Paul Wall, and the second guy had a wondering eye that was waaaayyy to distracting.

i have never met anyone witht he intention to go
out with them. maybe thats why i did feel a little safer..

im not talking about meeting just for dates...alough my current girlfriend is off the net

I haven't and dont think i ever could meet someone off the internet... Sure I have lots of people I enjoy talking too but my interwebbe life and real life are 2 seperate things and I enjoy keping them that way!

Yeah i was keeping things seperate until people started to think i had something to hide so i merged the two

hmmm I have never considered meeting someone from online without the intention to date them...I'm strange

well no your not.....the common belief is that if you meet someone off the internet it is with the intention of dating.
