So that's how we ended up with our first Black president? The media & entertainers & God-forbid Oprah elected him not the millions of american voters!

Welcome back.. long time no see. I'm assuming that you were away for so long because you were kidnapped by the liberal media and Oprah?

Yes, the media is a very powerful tool, depends on the level of education, the system type and 'naiveness' of the public of the country.
For instance, in the ME countyries where dictatorship rules, the media is controled by the governments. What the ruler wants the people to know is the only information allowed.
To my utter surprize and dismay I witnessed the power of the media in the USA. Last presedential election showed me how Americans are ill informed. The media directed them to what the media wants. The journalism integrity is lost.
The qestion is how do we the people in the civilized world get informed???

First you have to live in the civilized world.
Then it would help if you embraced reality.

Don't be impressed. The media elected the President, along with entertainers and a little help from Oprah. The world is now seeing the collapse of the United States, thanks in part to the liberal media.

So, who elected Reagan?

I agree with you- but for the exact opposite reasons. The usa media has sunk to all new lows fed by the tabloid scandal style of FOX NEWS and MSNBC. The incessant 24/7 propaganda of unfettered rightwing wackos like Limbaugh, Hannity, & Beck is nothing but free political advertising pushing the talking point lies that the gullible us citizens eat up.

Fairness doctrine cannot be implemented none too soon.

Yeah... It slays me when people blame the media for elections.. It simply means that they've never studied history, as elections in the 18th and 19th centuries were insane by todays media standards.. half the time the candidates wrote slanderous articles their opponents under pseudonyms, and owned the papers they were published in.

Former presidents were called sheep f***ers in the press... and worse.

And for anyone to say that people were more savvy a century or so ago, they're just fooling themselves.. We are more well informed as a people than we have ever been in history, and our decisions are better as a result.

Now we just have to get people to care enough to do their own research, and actually show up on election day.

Hey Hey yea its very exciting , basically because anyone can write news on blottr its naturally unbiased and people can add to an article as they wish . There is moderators and if I have spelt something wrong or have made grammer mistake then they change it but its quite straight forward . They have columnists who i find quite amusing sometimes and are quite revolutionary as writers . The platform is open to misuse but I havent witnessed it myself. Apparantly when the London Riots were going on, this site was the most informed and had pictures and videos released before any of the big papers/sites .

Interesting.
Seems that bias would creep in or would be just an agenda that is being pushed. Would be a kewl exercise.
