We need to get out of there. We've been there five years, and they don't want us occupying their country.

Do you think they could demonstrate in their streets if we didn't go there in the first place?

yeah, I think it's about time we allow them to take care of their own country. We can only do so much.

I won't argue whether they're better off now or not. Exchanging an oppressive dictator for a massive invasion, hundreds of thousands of civilian casualties, foreign occupation, and frequent terrorist bombings is honestly a hard choice.

But we've been occupying their nation for five full years and it's still a large-scale conflict with no end in sight.

Iraq is a sovereign nation, and we need to bring our guys home.

agreed! I think it's disrespectful at the least to just ignore their wishes like that. It's their country, have they no say in what happens to it?

The USA invaded them. "Mission accomplished" No WMD. Saddam is dead. What more does the USA want? Their oil?

I read a newsweek article a year ago it was about a massive survey they did in Iraq and weather people were happy about the invasion or not. well at first the shiites were happy we were there cause it was the Sunnis that were in power and were suppressing the Shiites. Then after a while with all the bombings people were afraid to go out in public and their country was in a worse state then before. Alot of the s***es said they prefered Sadam's rule cause at least they didnt have to worry about getting bombed when they went to buy food.

The first time, he came across as a "buddy" who was "cooler" than Al Gore. The second time because he ran his campaign based on fear, and it worked.
