Does anyone know of a way to make mac and cheese without using an oven or grill? It's cos I promised to make forensicgrl something yummy in her new flat but the people who used to own the place took the metal tray-holders out of the oven when they left so she can't use it and it was also supposed to double as a grill so

Boil a kettle, use it to cook he pasta.
Use a hair drier to melt the cheese then drape it over the pasta.

Yeah but I promised I'd make it from scratch. I also promised her soup and a cheesecake.

Don't know if that would work since the cheese is part of a sauce usually.

Well the cheese and the pasta are but then it has to be transferred to an over proofed dish and baked.
