The food pyramid is a bunch of baloney, fueld by the massive grain industry. Even the government itself abandoned the food pyramid.

The bulk of your diet should consist of vegetables. Add in some whole grains, quality proteins and fats, and fruits, and you're doing fine.

Oh yeah. I forgot about that. I do remember being shown some new system in foods class, I don't recall it being much different though.

Crash diets hurt you more than help you. No eating for long periods of time slows down your metabolism and causes you to gain weight. When you begin to eat again, that makes you gain even more weight. So I wouldn't suggest that

No, not really. "Healthy food" doesn't mean anything. No individual food is necessarily "healthier" than any other.

The key message is:

1) Eat a balanced diet. Lots of veggies, lots of protein, more fats than you think you should, avoid lots of simple carbs (sugar, non-whole wheat flour).
2) Control your calorie intake. This is the actual "losing weight" part. You'll gain weight if you eat nothing but "healthy" food but eat too much of it.
3) Get a reasonable amount of exercise. 30 minutes 3-4 times a week is plenty.

I love food!! I think my case is hopeless.

Google fake Mayo diet, I tried it for 2 weeks, i lost 15lbs, it was hell though, it rules out all sugar, the headaches were crazy and i missed coffee

it was terrible, but my recently departed good lady insisted so like a dutiful partner I supported her insanity. You could drink black Tea with no sugar but no more than 2 a day. The horror!
