Always a bit disappointed that the Paralympics don't get nearly as much media attention as the Olympics. But me being a sports nut I get into almost all sports and like seeing events I don't get to see much off or haven't seen before which the Paralympics have plenty off.

I rememebr the Sydney 2000 Paralympics watching the Wheel Chair Rugby or Muderball. The forst time I ever saw the game was the gold medal match Australia vs USA with the US coming out on top in a hard fought contest. I got into the sport and the game right away and it's one event I'm looking forward too at this Paralympics.

Anyway I just started the thread because I thought is was derserving of a thread. Starts on the 29th.

One Paralympic sport I always thought was pretty intense was Sledge Hockey, where the athletes are strapped into a sleigh-like.... sleigh, and they have two smaller poles which are used as hockey sticks and to help propel around the ice. It can be a pretty violent sport, though as there are a lot of collisions, considerably less penalties and a lot bloodier. Still, it's enjoyable to watch.

Am looking forward to it, am off next week so it will be on my tv. I agree it's rubbish that it doesn't get as much coverage as the Olympics. I watched wheelchair tennis in May at the Olympic Park and it was amazing, so much strength and power in the players serves, really looking forward to seeing some more of that.

So far my prevailing feeling is that C4's coverage is absolute s***e.

Maybe that's just compared with the BBC though. Who are these people? Why are they so edgy and alternative? This is sports broadcasting. Gah.

I agree the coverage is s***e, One channel so we are stuck with what channel 4 want to show us. I think we were spoilt with the BBC's coverage of the Olympics. Surely with team G.B's success they should put more channels on to show more events, as rumour has it Team G.B are aiming for a total of 103 medals.

I think more importantly why are the BBC not covering this?

Probably blew their budget with the olympics and haven't got any money left for the paralympics.

Channel 4 are using digital channels to broadcast more from the Paralympics. When I watched last night I realised its the commercials that bothers me more than anything in comparison to the BBC coverage.
