So, what are the local delicacies of where you're from/live?

The place I've lived most of my life (Stoke-on-Trent) has the Staffordshire oatcake.

Most people tend to eat them savoury with bacon and cheese, or sausage and cheese. They're really tasty.

St Louis style pizza which is awful....it's made with an abomination called provel cheese, which is a processed bastard child of cheddar, swiss, and provolone. St Louis style is also thin crust but not crispy. And typically cut into rectangular pieces instead of wedges:

St Louis is also big on sweet barbecue sauce which is good mixed with Texas hot.

That looks quite tasty, but that may just be because I'm so hungry!

Big sloppy variations of the grilled cheese sandwich served at Melt Bar and Grilled

Haven't had one yet.

Cleveland is supposedly one of the top "Foodie" locations. I'm not a foodie, so I couldn't tell you.

(oftentimes I find food is just a necessary evil)

Fish tacos didn’t actually originate with Rubio’s in San Diego, as many like to believe, as they have their origins further south, in Baja California. But it was Ralph Rubio that introduced it to the American mainstream when opening up the first Rubio’s in San Diego in 1983 after getting an epiphanic taste at a Baja stand.

The first time I tried a fish taco I thought I was going to hate it but damn those things are tasty.

Good morning mrmhead.

Yours is likely the most important post in this entire thread.

The place is called Melt Bar and Grilled and it's the best.

Worth traveling from out of state or out of country to visit and get fat.

When I say it's the best I really can't stress that enough.

--late spring 2013 I traveled to Cleveland Ohio.

I had some very good craft beer and some type of Italian (maybe Hot Italian now looking at their menu again)

Huge fan of the blow mold decor!!

"Local Delicacies" while I was travelling:

I forget the name of the place, but I had an incredible pork chop dinner in Kansas City (I think I was on the KS state side). Though, being KC, I'd suspect there are a lot of good pork meals served.

And a "to die for" scallops w/caramelized onions and asparagus dinner at Judy's on Cherry in Reading, PA. several times. Sadly, the last time I was there, it wasn't on the menu
(They're listing some kind of scallop dinner now, again)

That reminds me...pork steak is also a huge St. Louis favorite. It's cut from the shoulder while pork chops are from the loin and they're typically cooked with barbecue sauce.
