I just started thinking about getting a degree in something (don't know what yet, lol) but the problem is I have two kids and I wouldn't be able to work if I was going full time, so things could get expensive. How does it work to get student loans for living expenses?

Most brick and mortar colleges and universities have a formula for living expenses, that they figure into the "financial aid" package. I think they are figured off living in university housing, as a base figure. So it is possible to get a loan.

Most of the people that I know can take out some loans to "live off of" in addition to tuition, books etc. the catch-22 is you will have to pay them back when you finish, its usually a question of struggling in college or struggling after, or sometimes both. I know like for law school most people take out loans to live off the first year, as most law school do not allow students to work at all the first year or two.

Im not sure about the online schools and programs.
