Trying to setup duel boot with linux fedora, have it installed and everything but I am having trouble getting my pcmcia network card to work, fedora recognizes it and eth0 seems to be enabled and setup and what not, but it refuses to communicate over the network either by getting a ip via dhcp or talking to the network when i force my ip to the card. Anybody have any suggestions/information? I can give more details if anybody is familar with linux. I personally worked at an ISP for a year and a half so I am pretty familar w/ it but getting this pcmcia ethernet card to work is buggin the heck out of me.

thanks,
DJ

Try the redhat_config_network utility. Are you using WEP? Some drivers don't support WEP for certain cards. I'm not sure about yours.

Not a wep card, hard wired ethernet. in fact i have one but its linksys g standard and those darn people won't release drivers. i have tried the redhat utility, still no good, its like its there but its a ghost device that is not actually communicating. Really weird, i was suggested to reinstall fedora just using the laptop setup, then add whatever else i need later, i might try going that route and see if it makes any difference though i doubt it will, i hate just reinstalling to fix a problems, seems so rediculous. The card uses a realtek chipset rtl8139 which the drivers seem to be loaded fine for, one thing i notice on boot is it doesn't turn on eth0 right away because pcmcia loads later. Hm.... But whenever i boot in eth0 seems to be up so idk what its doing.

Have you tried modifying/creating the appropriate files in /etc/pcmcia ?

I always knew fast food was bad for you, but the way he got fat so fast, and went from being above average in health to giving himself cirrhosis of the liver after only 1 month was astonishing. And also all the other problems he had, like the mood swings, and cravings...wow, that stuff is crazy! I'll never eat fast food again! I'm really glad he did this documentary, it is a valuable thing to be aavailable, especialy for Americans.
