As many of us know, California has a measure on the ballot seeking to legalize, regulate, and tax marijuana. I'm not asking whether you think it should be legalized or not, that's already been covered. I want to know what you all think legalizing marijuana will entail. How it will be regulated, what the limits will be, things like that. Many of my friends who support it are greatly misinformed about what marijuana being legal will actually mean. So let me know what you think will happen if it is legalized. And please don't google the measure and post the link to what you find. I've already done my reading up on it. I want to know YOUR opinions

Less full jails/prisons, in my opinion.
Maybe a better police/citizen relationship.

I don't think it'll cause (many) people to smoke, if you don't smoke it now, chances are you won't just because it's legal, and I don't think we'll be any lazier than we are already.
Actually, maybe things will get done quicker. Who knows?

Perhaps music will even get better.

Well, in California, it's basically already decriminalized.

I'm actually saying... more like... Exactly how legal do you think it will be? Cause many of my friends have it all wrong. Like it's open season to be a dumb pothead once it's legalized. But it will still be illegal to smoke out in the open, illegal to smoke and drive, you'll still be denied a job if you test positive for pot, etc. I'm looking to see if people actually know to what extent it will be legalized

The thing is, they're still going to be able to confiscate it under some conditions

No, it's not going to be like that. There will still be licensed and regulated places to sell it, much like medicinal marijuana dispensaries.

Figured.

Although if you could run out for a pack of joints like it was a box of Newports, a LOT of people would be happy.

Well, yeah. I didn't even think of that. It will only be legal for those that are 21 or older. And as I said earlier, it won't be legal to smoke in public, sell on the streets, smoke while driving, etc.

I wouldn't. If big tabacco got it's hands on my weed, I'd be PISSED! Marlboro already puts enough s*** in my lungs with my beloved cancer sticks, they don't need to be tainting my sweet love Mary Jane too

I think weed is a lot like good music.

It's only really good if it's underground and not well known.
