Johnny Cash covered Soundgarden?

I got The Legend Of Johnny Cash from Amazon the other day and couldn't help but notice the heavy metal song played by him. I wasn't sure if he was covering them or they were covering him but studying the inlay card the latter is true His was recorded in '96 and their's (correct me if I'm wrong) was from '91 It jams, none the less.

He also covered Nine Inch Nails with one of the most gut-wrenching records ever.

Cool, although I'm not familiar with anything other than Head Like a Hole. He also made a cameo with One Bad Pig (a Christian thrash band) when they covered Man in Black in '92

Johnny Cash covered a lot of songs. I think it was a five (or six) album series, the American one. so there were a quite a few cover songs. He also mixed in a few new things.

Hurt, and Personal Jesus are the two that live on my ipod, but there are more than I have heard.

There are some fantastic covers on The American albums. Well worth getting.
