Islam and Radical Islam- The Difference

When most peopel think of Islams or Muslims, they think of 9/11 and terrorists. They dont think of the actual religion. I am a Christian and I have talked ot my Muslim friends and there appears to be some similarities etween the Bible and the Quran. It seems to split when it comes to Jacob and Ishmael. I also realize the Islam is a peaceful religion. Then why are Muslims terrorizing us and using Jihad as an excuse? They are radical. Just the same as Christians bombing abortio clinics and burning Qurans. I would like some Muslims to comment on this and strighten this out for me. Tell me a little bit about your religion, an if these acts are truly for Jihad.

Actually, when I think of Islam, I think of the oppression of women in those Islamic countries like Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Iraq and so on. But to each their own I guess.

And yes, I know that not all Muslim men are like that, and that's kind of the point of this thread - not all Muslims are terrible people. I just wanted to state that terrorism is what comes to my mind, personally, when I think of Islam, but rather the sheer misogyny that goes on in certain parts of the world.
