Is there some study done which can width of interests of people in society?

I am interested in finding out the interest spectrum of individuals especially in a particular hierarchy like sports or music. Here is an example to make the question clear -

Sports - cricket,football,hockey,tennis etc..

On an average how many sports does an individual has interest in ? What is the possible distribution of the interest spectrum ? power law ?

Any help would be appreciated.

Are you talking about conducting a study or finding a pre-existing study?

If it's the former then the best thing to do would probably be to compile a survey of some sort asking questions about people's interests.
