If he flies to see you and spends money at all, then its more than just "like's you" but if he is eyeing another broad then there is something he isnt sure about. Maybe the long distance thing makes him nervous. Maybe he isnt ready for "madly in love". Either way you need to talk to him, in person is better but phone is cheaper. Ask him where he sees this going and if its moving too fast or at a pace he can handle. Ask him if you should consider seeing other people or if you want to be exclusive....MEN NEED GUIDE LINES....dont let him flounder about. Let him know what you think/feel. and you can do that without giving away a thing your mate said.

yeah he flies to me, he was here at xmas and new year for a week even though his family were cross at hiim for coming over for the whole of the holidays.

last week some people on our games forum started on me, and he waded right inthere and told them they were out of order for hurting me and to stop trying to stick a knife in our relationship. i think he wants to be with me, but not at a racing pace, just nice and gentle and see how things go

This is called playing the field. It's obvious that he misses being single and he's searching for the easiest way to let you down gently.
