No its not. It only makes it gay if YOU make it gay.

If you want it, go for it. And for anyone that questions it, if they know you they wouldn't care!

Its great, go for it!

As long as you aren't getting it because you think koi's are really pretty...

Not getting it for the beauty of carps thats for sure, I actually got the idea when my GF got one on her foot and I liked the way the colors flowed, then I read into the symbolism behind it and decided it would make for a good tattoo.

where does the koi=gay argument come into it?

i have three koi on my forearm, shoulder, and upper thigh, together with two dragons and other oriental serpents ect....

last thing i would consider them being gay!

the only link between the two must be that the inked person gets tattooed by pricking the skin with needles, a gay would simply like the prick

I certainly liked it.. but I wouldn't get a koi, not because it's gay, but because it's tired and overdone. 8)

depends on what other tatts you have or want in the future, kois are good as part of a body suit for example, if its a one off tattoo think i would prefer a dragon.

Nothing more popular than jap designs for tattoos,

It's definately not "gay", if you mean something someone gay would have done because it's some sort of symbolic thing of gay culture. I wouldn't have thought tattoos were really a gay thing anyway. Certainly wouldn't have thought fish or dragons especially were gay.

If anything, certain designs might be more "woman orientated", meaning things which are popular with women, and which might look a bit effeminate on a man. Think having a blue butterfly on your ankle Or think of a guy with "arse antlers" those spiky things which used to be fashionable with women on the lower back.

Now nothing wrong with being effeminate if that's your thing, it's everyone to their own. Effeminate is also nothing whatsoever with "gay" - so some gay blokes are, but not in the women sense - drag queens aren't so much effeminate as just over the top and theatrical.

It's the same as if a bloke was to walk down the street with a "Hello Kitty" bag - it's more a woman thing

So I've rambled, but what I mean is, it's certainly not gay, but it's probably effeminate. BUT, depends how it's done. Just don't get arse antlers too

Koi is a fish a member of the minnow familiy of fishes.
I think if you had asked if a tattoo of a BOY was gay, then
I might say perhaps! Fish won,t make you gay,the carp is admired in Japan for its bravery and strength!
