Internet dating sites

I've been trying out internet dating sites for the last couple of weeks, and its been really weird, creepy and disturbing. Anyone got any tips, advice or just funny stories to tell about these sites?

After my parents divorced, my dad went single and my mom went directly into the arms of another man. My dad then went on internet dating sites to find Debbie, a woman who lives in Michigan. Her kids were great, but I don't know about her. That relationship didn't last long, and my dad ended up with a 21-year old that lives in the same town we do. They've been dating for over a year now.

Considering all this, I'm only going to date in person. It seems that in-person relationships work out better, so find a special someone in your town and not on the Internet.

You will be faced with the question on here, where will you find this person?? People that sit infront of the computer as a part of there life day in day out.. wont undersatnd words like.. "go over and speak too" and "confidence.." they will say things like "i aint got time.." and "i can meet like minded people", thats right.. they only excist on the internet...

Maybe its about confidence though Mark? I would dearly love to be confident enough to walk up and just start talking to people but I can't do it. Therefore, for me, it always helps I have a reason to talk to them.. or I can do it via the internet.

I dont think internet dating sites are bad, i just think people need to take into account that until you have met this person IRL you know nothing about them!

oh yes i agree people dont have confidence.. but some people hid behined excuses.

Gee. markfox01. You just hate people on dating sites or do you just generally hate everyone on the net? Not all of us have perfect personalitys, unlimited time and millions of people that we know. Whats the point, youre just going to respond with more negativity anyway.

Just because you meet someone online doesn't mean you're a bad person or have no life. Many people have met online and it has worked out great.

A few people on TFS have met their partners online. Some are still together, and are married or getting married.

Don't let a few bad stories keep you from it. Sure it could turn out bad, but it could turn out good. As long as you're careful about it, I don't see a problem.

there is no harm in it, just follow the safety rules and go with your gut instinct about things.

Are we talking about TFS (not a dating site) or a Dating site? I personally think there is a huge difference.. here you meet people get to know them and kinda fall for them over time bit like you would in real life.. but on an internet dating site.. your all cattle with the same cause.. or problem.. IMO..
