George Osborne reduced the highest rate of income tax from 50% down to 45%.

At a time where we are 'all in this together' is it really the correct time to reduce the highest rate of income tax? Will these mansion taxes work?

Also interesting that George Osborne, despite owning a fairly successful company and earning a ministerial wage doesn't pay the highest rate of tax. He admitted this to show that he wasn't lowering the tax rate for his own gain.

What do you think, is it justified to lower it or does it feel unfair?
