I have heard some daft theories in my time. Past, present future. All exist. We call the travel from one point to the next, time.
How can it not exist? I suppose you believe the Earth is flat as well.

And the thing by which you're making the measurement is a man made concept. It only "exists" because we thought of it, not because it always did and was discovered.

As far as I understand.. If you pass the speed of light, if you travel faster than the speed of light, then you'll be running away from time. You'll be going faster than time. You would not be able to jump to 1983 or 2021 in an instant, but you would be moving faster than time.

Or, you might just be travelling faster than the speed of light...

Well...if you travel faster than the speed of light...do you visit the future or not? What would Einstein say?

That's the one way to, in theory, travel in time. If something occurs on point A and you get to point B before the light from that happening does.. Then you'll be at point B when it happens again. You will have run back in time, in a way.

Personally I don't think it is possible to travel back in time, however I think we can stagnate and travel futurely into time.

Understood, although it still nags me that you are truely in a pesent state at either point

Well, if we're gunna move through time in the way it's described in sci-fi.. It's not possible if you view the time as a straight line. Personally, I do. However, I think you could move faster than this line can. This is the case I am trying to describe

Yeah, I think I was thinking more on being able to return to point A.

Then, unless time is actually a variable instead of something progressing at a fixed rate, no.

Also, in order to witness the event in the first place, you would need light to be received at your eyes? So if you move faster than light, would have witnessed in the first place and therefore only be witnessing the event for the first time at any given point??? Would you be gone from point A in order to witness it first time?

You witness it, then move faster than light to another point, from which you witness the same thing once again

Meaning that you could only witness it from the point you left though, as you would have moved before the light reached your eyes at the first position otherwise and you wouldn't have witnessed it?

I'll try to draw a graph in TFS..

You 1 - - - - - - - - - - - - - You 2
Light 1 - - - - - Light 2

You see it at the first point, then go to the second point before the light does. You'll therefore see the light appear twice. The very same light. At different times.
