If I was president I'd stop supporting Israel in the Arab-Israeli conflict because since we're supposedly neutral we can't be helping out one side and not helping the other.

if i was president i'd make it so nafta actually meant free trade.

but that means you'd have to pay mexicans at least minimum wage for their work, in a country that buys mostly chinese goods from a company that hires so many mexicans illegally, then b****es there are too many immigrants. they wouldn't be here if wal mart wasn't hiring them for almost nothing, and they wouldn't get hired as much if they had legal rights to minimum wage and couldn't be used for more labor than legal workers.

The very fact that we have allies, including Israel, makes it impossible for us to be neutral. For our government to say that we are an ally of any of the Arab states, while being an ally of Israel, makes it very difficult for us not to step on our own d***... So if I were president, I would mandate that all Foreign Service Personnel wear bullet-proof cups, to keep their genitals from flopping to the ground.

I would:

1. Encourage gun ownership.

2. Clean up in Iraq a bit then get the hell out.

3. Stop trying to be the world police.

4. Start digging for oil in Alaska.

5. Ban anyone with the name Hillary Clinton from the White House.

And I'd choose Mitt Romney as my VP.

Well, first I would make sure every American gets a gun to "protect themselves" from unforseen dangers and strangers. Second I would require abortion to be banned everywhere in the U.S.except in California, Wisconsin, Texas, North Carolina, South Carolina, Albequerque, Mexico and South Africa. I would require 1/3 of the population to turn homosexual. I would ban sex. I would legalize LSD only in public schools. All ages can vote. Finally, I would declare war on Antartica.

I would sign the Kyoto Protocol and ratify other international agreements on pollution. I would make the education system less unequal by phasing out private education. I would stop schools brainwashing people into being patriotic; instead I would focus on teaching people about why the US federal government genuinely is an ideal political model. I would introduce a spending cap for election campaigns. I would create a national health system, increase welfare spending, and support it by raising income tax. I would expand the countries nuclear energy industry and increase funding for renewable energy sources. I would reduce funding for the military and phase out US involvement in Iraq, and instead negotiate with Pakistan, Iran and other middle-eastern countries to crack down on extremism. I would increase national donations to the UN. I would try to foster greater global awareness. I would abolish teaching of religious beliefs to children in schools. I would increase federal grants for all forms of non-military scientific research, and reduce funding for military applications. I would try to improve relations between China and the USA, while trying to increase international pressure for China to become more democratic. I would attempt to legalise homosexual marriages, or at least make it permissable for individual states to do so. I would improve sex education in schools, and also improve teaching on Islam and other world religions. I would tax the porn industry more heavily. I would pull out of disputes over Arctic oil reserves and support the proposal for the Arctic circle to become a nature reserve. I would ban whaling in Alaska, if it isn't already banned. I would build more sidewalks and reduce parking spaces. I would limit the number of McDonalds, Burger Kings, KFCs and other fast food stores allowed within a certain number of city blocks. I would improve internet access in regions away from the coasts. I would offer monetary rewards to corporate whistle-blowers. I would reduce subsidies to American farmers in order to encourage imports from third-world producers. I would officially recognise the legitemacy of numerous regimes in South and Central America, including those of Hugo Chavez and Fidel Castro. I would never get elected.

Wow, you lost me with your first line.

Kyoto almost seems like it was specifically designed to let China do whatever the f*** it wants while putting severe restrictions on the US.

f*** Kyoto.

And you couldn't do the rest of that s*** anyway. The POTUS doesn't have any lawmaking authority whatsoever.

Well, despite the thread title I felt what it was truly asking is what you would do if you could control the US federal government with impunity; this is the mythical 'commander-in-chief' concept of a president rather than the true political position of presidency.

I'm not sure why you feel that way about the Kyoto protocol. It wasn't even proposed by China, it was put forward by the IPCC. China has certainly done more to fulfil it's pollution commitments than the USA, and it emits only a half of the CO2 per capita of most developed countries - a quarter of the US's, which is why the Kyoto protocol may seem to favour China. It simply favours any country with low emission per capita, and naturally a high-emissions country such as the USA would be more harshly affected by it. And at least a quarter of China's CO2 leakage is from consumable exports to other countries. It's a f***ed up country, yes, but when it comes to the Kyoto agreement China's not doing so bad considering one in five people live there.

We can at least make an ally of Lebannon. That is doable because I figure since the country may fall into civil war we can support their government, fight and expell Hezbollah, and keep Israel the f*** out. That way we not only prevent a bloody civil war and promote peace and stability, but we get a pro-western government into an arab country and we win over the people living in that country.
