Remember this fellow citizens do not ever under any circumstance vote for someone who is liberal, British, Canadian, and/or Australian. This was a public service anouncement.

a. i guess you've never heard of george washington.

b. it's not like it's possible to vote for someone born in another country anyway, (but it was okay for george washington, obviously.)

c. BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! (did you get that? it's a direct order.)

Amish, you should read the Constitution some time. It's not very long.

Here is the passage concerning the requirements for a President:

No person except a natural born citizen, or a citizen of the United States, at the time of the adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the office of President; neither shall any person be eligible to that office who shall not have attained to the age of thirty five years, and been fourteen Years a resident within the United States.

None of the first 9 Presidents were "natural born citizens." But they were citizens at the time the Constitution was adopted, making them eligible. It's not like they made some exception for someone as you imply.

i wasn't implying that they made an exception. i'm simply pointing out that it was (indeed) okay for them. i understand that the reason it was okay was our constitution wasn't ratified yet. (besides, i don't really expect them to elect one of the native americans they had invaded.)

Are you stupid or something? George Washington was born in the United States only before it was the United States, the colony of Virginia became part of the United States hence Washington could become president.

Washington and all the presidents after him were born in the land that became the United States, Alexander Hamilton could for example not become president because he was born in Jamaca.

Prehaps you are from another country or maybe you failed American history either way... Washington was born in the colony of Virginia, now if you know your geography and history you'd know that Virginia is on of the thirteen original colonies that became the thirteen original states, now those thirteen states are represented on the American flag by the thirteen stripes. Washington is from one of the thirteen original colonies that became states thus making it to where Washington was not born in another country he is from the United States.

He was born in a british colony, he wasn't born in the united states since it didn't exist at his birth.

That would suck to be the president. Too much responsibility, too little power. I'd go for supreme dictator, my first order would be:

Conquer Mexico. Let's see how those alien invaders like it when they're pushed into the lower hemisphere!
Make it so all earmarks must be paid for by a single person who has been paying a monthly suscription for the past twelve months and has issued an order to the new handpicked Senate to be approved (I can't do everything while on my life of vacation being reversed with work.)
Cut off the lazy bastards suckling the teet of welfare, no ifs ands or buts.
Pull out of Iraq.
Buy the moon (Okay, maybe use taxpayers money for that, our ten bazillion dollar debt can wait)!
