If you told your partner you wanted a divorce, what would their reaction be?

I'm talking if they thought you were going along ok, and claimed to love you, what would you expect their reaction to be?

i filed for divorce and there reaction was not good...they bashed me about a bit

im not married but if i said to my girlfreind im leaving you i think she would be in tears for a couple of days then grow out of it. we broke up for two days last year after a big arguement she sat crying eating ice cream wearing a hoodie i gave her for two days but we havent had any fall outs since thank god.

yeah i have to agree with bluedragon on this one thats exactly what would happen if i told my husband just suddenly that i was leaving and vice versa if he ever did that to me

Sounds like classic denial .. whatever it was that you said just didn't register with them. I'm afraid you're gonna have to have that talk all over again.
