Nothing other than perhaps shorten the time it took for me to get where I am at and the things I have accomplished.

But, either way, as ugly as the journey may have been, I'm there, and, therefore, satisfied.

Good question....the thing I would mostly change, would result in me not having something I love now.

Im gonna think on this one.

I see where you're coming from. Totally.

For me the journey has been vindicated by the result, yet I feel like I've wasted so much time in my life. Perhaps fulfilment only truly comes with time?

Going to the emergency room after playing basketball. I now wish many times I had not gone in.

Well, my dad knew I was not fit for college so he offered to pay my way through a trade school. I turned it down. Dad offered to pay for flying lessons. I turned that down too. That, I would change. I'd probably be dead by now but, what a ride.

not much- swap the A Level for the one I really wanted to do, that still bugs me. Probably waste less time on people who were not worth it too- friends and family

The one thing I wish I could change would probably be to change it so I wouldn't have my medical condition (a type of genetic malformation--not hereditary). Probably not possible to do that, nothing anyone can do about it now, and they don't even know why it happens. But I think my life would have been way better if I didn't have this medical condition.

But it isn't something I really dwell on or have any regrets over, as pretty much everyone gets to where they are by way through distractions and detours in life along the way. Nobody ever has a perfect road getting there, so what's really important is whether or not you are satisfied at the end.

In fact, some of that journey itself has its rewards.

No matter how distorted life is, a beautiful song is still ever-present beneath, ready to spring to the forefront, if one is willing.

A good listen to Sonic Youth's Daydream Nation always reminds me of this.

Me too! I would have been nicer to my whole body... As in, not getting in fights and punching solitary objects! I'm 34, I shouldn't feel 90 everytime the weather changes!

Being born deaf ..Yeah I know that reads totally naff but really I wonder how life would have worked out for me and all the decisions made.

When I left school I wanted to join the arny Transport Corps
What's not to love...You get drive some of the most amazing machines, fire all sorts of guns, have a common enemy (corporals upto Field Marshials) with which to bond with your peers, Wear a Natty uniform with which to impress the girls, meet lots of girls already in the uniform that are only interested in ranks above yours (career ambition motivation that not even the Armed Forces can include in the recruitment bumf!).

That was killed off when the Army doc that took my nedical informed ne that he would refer me to my local Audiology Unit...cos I was too deaf for the Army

Everything in my life is informed by such a condition that I long ago came to accept.....but I occasionally...like now as a matter of fact...ponder on the "what if" element...where would I be if I actually joined the Royal Corps of Transport....back in 1983
