I think my neighbour is beating his wife...

I'm hearing a lot of yelling in arabic, and I hear a lot of shattering of glasses...I think he might be hurting someone...

The people down stairs says, that he's just yelling at his "EX"-wife, and that there is no need to call the cops...but I feel obliged to, because it sounds pretty brutal...

Mum is wondering the same...should I just call anyway?

yes, cos if you are right and anything happens you will regret it. if he has nothing to hide, then at least you know things are ok

Yes I have called the cops. The cops say they are on their way...but when I needed them desperately they came 3 hours later...very timely they are.

accuse him of being a terrorist, you get a timely response from the police and who knows maybe he is

All you can do is call, and you've done that. It's up to them now to convince the police that everything is ok.

When we called for a domestic at my cousin's, police arrived within 10 minutes. They don't waste time on domestic disputes here...too much can go wrong. I hope everything's ok.

I've always thought he was anyway, he always seems to be arguing with someone or another...and he gave me an evil when I told him to stop screaming at another neighbour...he looks quite frightening too.
