My Kasperski thing ran out at midnight last night and I can't afford to renew it until I get paid on Tuesday, I dunno if I should leave my laptop off completely until then or if I'm safe and only stick to sites I trust and don't download anything will I be ok risking it?

It will be ok, just won't be able to get any new updates on your computer (Not to do with windows update, just with Kasperski virus scanner)

I'd leave it off till you can be sure..it's better to go without for a few days, than to possibly lose more time..

I asked my bro and he said there's a firewall and virus protection on the router and said I'll be ok for a day or so. I'm gonna risk it, I can't go without TFS for that long!

I can't speak for anyone else but I don't think TFS can go without Katie for very long!

Well as long as you're certain the protection is there, go for it.

I'd go looney too without TFS....but my computer crashed before, and I was without for 4 month; so for me, I'd be patient and wait..
but your brother sounds like he's sure of himself.

Yup, some routers have a virus scanner that comes inbuilt, but, I prefer to be safe, and get a virus scanner on my computer. Firewall on a router is a hardware firewall rather than a software

Its still on your computer, it just will not be updated as your subscription has ended. You will not be protected if any new viruses come out.
