We went on vacation and decided to go to the casino. I am not a gambler but my b/f does from time to time. We went into the main lobby and I was not asked for id. We looked around and decided to eat. I passed many stations where they have workers and I was not asked for id. We went to eat and decided to go out for a cigarette. We were going to come back in and he was going to gamble, I wanted some drinks and they had live entertainment.

As we were going out for a cigarette, a worker at one of the stations stopped me. He asked me for id. I'm 31 years old and you only had to be 21 to enter.

I got out my id. To make a long story short, I am not allowed to drive right now so I have a Canadian gov't issued id. It looks just like a license, costs the same and even has the same images in the back that won't appear if copied. The only difference is that mine says on the top that it is id only. I pass it to him.

I do want to point out the man had attitude. Like when someone craves power and has some authority.

He took my id, help it up to the light, twisted it and turned it. He looks at me real intense and looks back at the id. He is doubting it is real. I give him a break as maybe he has not seen a gov't issued id only before.

My b/f takes out his license to show him it is exactly the same. The man tells me that I am not allowed to stay and have to leave unless I have another piece of gov't issued photo id. Who has two? I realize I have my passport in the car but it would take a good 20 minutes to go get it and come back. I have done nothing wrong. My id is gov't issued and he is being a jackass about the situation. He even saw my b/f's license to prove mine was real.

I have cc's in my wallet, bank card, lots of things that prove who I am just not a photo id. He asked me to leave.

I am going to email in one big letter of complaint. He was mean to me and quite rude as well. He had a tone and I am shocked that my b'f could stay and I had to leave because I did not have a license. I checked into it and as long as I have gov't issued photo id they are not allowed to refuse me.

I have been there before and I will not be back again.

I don't know about other casinos, But I know Crown here in Melbourne, has a few different entrances to the gaming floor. That happened to me once, so I just went to a different entrance and they didn't even ask me for id

But yes, I would be writing a letter of complaint too. And possibly suggest that they have their guards brush up on what's legal id and what isn't.

Thats heaps annoying, rude jackass..

My ex has the same kind of id as you as he doesnt have a drivers licence and he's never had any problems with it

Think the ego tripper was just looking to make himself feel big for a sec..

Years ago, i bought tickets to a band that was playing in our local night club.
I got the tickets prior to the event and wasnt asked for id when i purchased them.

However, when i arrived on the night, i had left my wallet home to avoid spending too much and had no id on me, so security wouldnt believe i was 18 (i was 24) and wouldnt let me in the door.

I was so mad, because they had let me buy the damned tickets with no id and i had been to that club thousands of times in the past without ever being asked for it.

I was like, 'be f***ed if im paying 80 bucks to see a band and then not see it!'

The police station was only 3 doors away, so i drunkenly marched in there, complained to the officer on duty, who looked me up on their computers, printed out proof i was over 18 and escorted me back to the club..

You should have seen the look on the security guys face when the police officer showed up and told him to stop being an a** and let me in

Here in Washington (state) there are signs that read, "We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone." So, that ends all arguments.

Write your letter. The man didn't have any right to treat you harshly. Besides, the hotel management will probably want to know how their employees are behaving towards the public. I suspect you'll get an invitation for a free night or two on them. Try not to judge the entire casino by just one jerk.

Yes, of course he left with me. He told me to take it good that the guy thought I was under 21. It was not about that, he was just a jerk.

I could have loved to see the look on his face Kat.

I understand the sign say they can refuse service to anyone. Those cases for usually for people underdressed, hookers, drunks etc.

I don't feel as though I fall into the catagory of being able to refuse anyone. The look on the guys face just showed how arrogant he was and he had the attitude of I have power because I can deny entry.

I'm very angry because I had the proper gov't issued id. We showed a license and proved beyond all doubt that it was the same except mine was just an id. If customs has no problem with it and if the police do not have a problem with it, why does one idiot with a chip on his shoulder have a problem with it. I proved my id was real but he did not care. He used his power.

As I said, it was not my first time there. We go every few weeks as we are on the border. So now I refuse to go and even if I wanted to go, they are saying my id is not real when it is.

I am getting their full address tonight and plan on sending the email by Monday. I'm sorry but I refuse to basically be called a liar and treated like that.

He deserves to be fired.

A friend of mine was in Reno, and had been playing slots all day. She had ordered several alcoholic drinks. Later, she ordered a donut (a DONUT!) and was asked for id

Maybe it was the same guy or another person with an attitude of the power going to their head. I understand them asking for ID. Some people look young and sometimes they do random checks.

If he would have asked nice and asked what my id was seeing as how it was not a license, I would have had no problem with it at all and seen it as a compliment actually.

I just don't understand. If my boyfriend showed his license and they were exactly the same except mine said it was id only, how come he could stay and I had to leave? We even told him that in the backfround if you turn it you will see a the images. If it's fake you don't see the images.

When I flew to other states and at the airport when the passport thing was first passing, I only had id and my birth certificate and that was good for customs. A few weeks ago they had a roadblock set up and were looking in people's cars. It was good enough for the police but not for a casino.

Even my birth certificate was not good for the guy at the casino because it did not have my photo, even though it was also gov't issued.

I am going to be very polite in my email. I am hoping they can use this as a training tool because I might not be the only one refused entry just having gov't issued id and no license. They need to know that Canadians come there frequently, especially where I am from because it borders us. They need to know what we have as legal id and what is fake.

Funny how crap like that works. I bought a bag of Manila Clams and a bottle of wine a few days ago and didn't get IDed for the wine.

I get IDed every which way from sideways and then all the sudden not so much as a thought on the clerk's part.

I get asked for ID a lot and I understand that part. They need to be safe because of the fines and such. But how can one say the id is not real though?

He sounds like just another douche bag. (30 million sperm and THAT one gets through ) I've run into a couple like that. One guy thought I'd be dumb enough to use a fake ID with my mother standing right next to me. Happened again with my father present.

They must have smacked there heads on something awful hard on the way out of bed that morning.

I can't believe they had the nerve when it was your mom and dad there. Some people love to abuse their little access to power.

I know someone who has a job where they need a bullet proof vest. They walk around with it on after their shift because they like to feel the power. We had a small party at my place for my dog's birthday and this person wore it to the party! What is going to have at a dog's birthday party that you need a bullet proof vest? Like my dog is packing heat.

They even have a special authority walk when they wear it. My and my friends just laugh and roll eyes.

The lacking self esteem in some people is laugh worthy.
