She smells.

Of course she does. She has a nose, doesn't she?

In all seriousness though, how does she smell? Does she have really stinky feet or something?

This may sound kinda creepy and gross, but if she needs to make extra money, she could always sell stinky footwear online. You can make pretty decent money that way.

Have you been like, "Niece, have you taken a bath today? Theres some fresh towels and soap in the bathroom." A great way of saying, girl, you reek.

I can understand about 15 year old family membera gone wild. My grandma has been raising my cousin since he was in diapers. Given him everything he needed AND wanted, private schools and works. And how does he repay her?
Stealing her truck for days, taking all of her food and giving it tois friends, putting a GUN to her head when she resists. There are some kids who are hurting. And then there are kids who can't change no matter how much therapy sessions and sympathy you give them. There are evil children out there, just like there are evil ADULTS in the world. We've all been hurt. But it does not give a child an excuse to go Hitler on everyone in their lives. The people who GENUINELY care.

I would have called the police and her locked up by now.

If she puts a gun to my head, I'll say this...she would pay.

I looked at her report card. She made an "C" and a "D." Her grade point average is 1.3.

So, where is the Father of this child? I have heard that having a Father image in the child's life can make a big difference.

My brother hasn't been around in her life much. As for her mom, she's estranged and on welfare.

Sounds like she's looking for guidance ..kids need direction and someone to set boundaries .. it sounds like her situation isn't so wonderful.. lay down the tough love and let her be a kid while she can

Update: my niece was arrested last week for stealing $17 worth of candy from a store. I've already lost hope for her.

I know I sound like a b****, but I don't care. I'm very emotionally detached to her. She's demented and a lost cause. I rather focus on helping myself.

All this might be true, but sometimes giving someone a really good smack in the back of the head just makes YOU feel better.

Teen aged children are on the cusp of adulthood. This a difficult time with multiple pressures.
I'm picking up on part of the quote "giving someone a really good smack in the back of the head just makes YOU feel better."
This can give serious harm to human brain tissue plus an example of adult hyprocisy as in do as I say but not as I do.
I think a better view is that there are no bad children only good children who sometimes do bad things through the example of others.
In my opinion to help someone is to spend time together doing something of mutual interest.
Smells more usually come from unwashed clothes or unbrushed teeth. Mention these issues discreetly and ask is there anything that one could do the child might want so giving the initiative back to the child.
In conclusion find ways to develop mutual respect & trust.
