Pleased to see the next world cup return to the format used in 1992: all 10 teams play each other in the league stage with four of them progressing to the knockouts.

Ireland have named their very first Test squad taking on Pakistan. Ireland squad: William Porterfield (captain), Andrew Balbirnie, Ed Joyce, Tyrone Kane, Andy McBrine, Tim Murtagh, Kevin O'Brien, Niall O'Brien, Boyd Rankin, Nathan Smith, Paul Stirling, James Shannon, Stuart Thompson, Gary Wilson.

Rankin would become the 15th player to play Tests for 2 countries.

Langer always seemed the logical choice once Boof stood aside (though Dizzy would have done a decent job i reckon). Anyway, look forward to seeing how we go under JL. Hopefully the team show the same fight and response to tough situations as JL did as a player.

Éire bowled out for 130 in their first ever test innings. They have been forced to follow on.

Strange how India have (unlike previous touring teams) refused to play a D/N test in Australia. Their reason? The conditions would better suit Australia. If we used their excuse we would never play another test in India!

Éire fought back well against Pakistan in a creditable first up effort.

First test btw England and Pakistan is underway. England bowled out for 184 with Cook making 70. In reply Pakistan are currently 1/32.

Smith to play T20 cricket in Canada. Hopefully Cricket Canada are able to exploit his presence.

Yep, first innings cost them but they put up a decent contest in the 2nd. Exciting to see them in future.

So CA CEO James Sutherland has announced he'll be retiring. Good timing I think, CA's been needing a new direction for a while now and with a new coach and new CEO hopefully the wheel starts turning.
